Description
The largest natural oasis in Egypt, the Fayoum Oasis, is characterized by the presence of numerous natural sites such as Wadi Al-Hitan Protectorate, which is included in the World Heritage List for its fossils dating back 40 million years. Wadi El Rayan Protectorate is known for its waterfalls, natural springs, and beautiful wildlife. Lake Qarun Protectorate is the oldest natural lake, home to some of the rarest birds in the world. The oasis also boasts numerous archaeological sites, including Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, and Islamic artifacts."
